Julia Dorothee Brunsch is an actress, performer and musician. She studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. During her academic training, she appeared in several productions at the Münchner Kammerspiele theatre. She also performed at the Residenztheater in Munich, the Lübeck Theatre and the Theater Kontraste, Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg. Over the years, she has also dubbed at Studio Hamburg. She also directs theatre plays with children and young people at schools and offers acting workshops. She discovered her love of singing while at drama school and has been writing her own song texts and poems ever since, which she has set to music with several musicians. She is also writing ‘Qualia’, a journey of exploration and healing of her inner map. She has appeared in several short films, including Dffb, Hff, Filmakademie Ludwigsburg, as well as television productions, including Großstadtrevier and Tatort: ‘Der Mörder in mir’, directed by Niki Stein. In 2023, she also played the lead role ‘Bernadette’ in the cinema feature film: ‘Bernadette will töten’, directed by Oliver Paulus and Robert Herzl, which was released at several international film festivals last year. In 2021 she came to performance, ‘New Ground Performance’, sound, text- body & image performance, which deals with the effects of industrial capitalism and the associated destruction of the earth. Instrumentally, the collective is orientated towards industrial music, an avant-garde art and music movement with post-punk influences. She recently opened an art gallery in an old ‘castle’ near Hamburg, in the „Old Land“, where she also lives with her children. Her vision there is to be a space for the liberal arts.
